SHUTDOWN: The Rise and Fall of Direct Action to Stop the War
In the winter of 2003, as the US was building up to attack Iraq, people around the world responded with a series of the largest protests in history.
In San Francisco, the response was a mass uprising orchestrated by Direct Action to Stop the War (DASW) that shut down the financial district the morning after the war started.
But neither the uprising nor DASW outlasted the occupation.
Created by organizers from within DASW, SHUTDOWN goes behind the scenes for a look at the successes and pitfalls of mass organizing.

In Search of Good Food
A documentary film tour of California's emerging sustainable food system.
In Search of Good Food artfully explores such questions as: What is the "sustainable food system", and who is creating it? Can sustainable food production reliably produce enough food at affordable prices for large urban populations? What would it take to bring sustainable food into the mainstream? Considering a future of depleting cheap fossil fuel, how do we best produce food with the least amount of energy?

Battle in Seattle
A peaceful demonstration to stop the WTO talks quickly escalates into a full-scale riot, and soon a State of Emergency is declared by the Mayor of Seattle. The streets are mayhem, and the WTO is paralyzed. Caught in the crossfire of civil liberties and keeping the peace are Seattle residents, including its beleaguered mayor (Ray Liotta), a riot cop on the streets (Woody Harrelson) and his pregnant wife (Charlize Theron). The choices they all make will change their lives forever.
